Cellulite!! YUK!!

FYI!

Why do most women have cellulite, actually men get it too but 80% of women get it in all the WRONG places. Toxins and fatty acids get trapped in the fat cells thru poor diet, stress, lack of exercise, caffeine (ouch!) , achohol and high fat diets. Oh yeah women, its also it's all about us becuase of ESTROGEN, baby..I no likey, however, I have it too!! What can I do about it?????? Well according to Sarah Chapman (beauty & skin therapist)
1. drink more water - it flushes the toxins & fat deposits that cause cellulite, also it helps circulation and drainage which helps the appearance of cellulite
2. more exercise to increase the circulation
3. also a bristle body brush - brush with long strokes towards the heart..extra focus on the cellulite areas also improves the circulation. Do this daily before getting in the shower..

I SHALL TRY IT ALL!!!!

Healthy Eating on the Run

Eating on the run can be your worst enemy so here are a few tips to help when eating out.

1. Menu terms that can mean more fat and calories: batter-fried, pan-fried, buttered, creamed, crispy, breaded. Choose these foods only occasionally and in small portions.
-We all know this but often times just ignore it. Remember we are also watching our cholestrol.

2.Boost the nutrition in all types of sandwiches by adding tomato, lettuce, peppers or other vegetables.
-We NEED vegetables.. be aware of what your eating and add the good stuff too.

3.Order the regular or child-size portion. Mega-sized servings are probably more than you need. For a lighter meal, order an appetizer in place of a main course.
- portion sizing is a huge downfall. It's important watch those portions. If need be, order child size portions.. come on, you know you've ordered the kids meals before....

Eating healthy is a lot of thinking first.. what is in this that is good and what is bad..

When Fear Affects Your Health

Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through your mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained. -Author Somers Roche

Fear Will Paralyze You!

When I would read about other people working out I would say I don't think I can do that exercise thing. Not that I couldn't exercise but not the weight training. I was an exception because I had never lifted weights or done ANY resistance workouts. So when I would see people at the gym doing this I would want to, but never would try. Then I got a buddy to go to the gym with me. She had weight trained before and gotten out of it. She showed me a little and I realized I could do this. However, it was temporary and I was back to the same thought process. Then I joined the gym by my house and wanted more. I began by only doing cardio work outs 4 to 5 days a week. I had already been jogging in my neighborhood and now I had different machines to do this with. Then I finally decided to ask a trainer to check my body fat and from there I was on my way to a free consultation and doing weight training. Today I LOVE it. I was so afraid of it, thinking the demand was great but not realizing everyone started somewhere. So did I, now it is a very important part of my workouts at the gym. Buffeting our body is not always easy but it is a necessary part of our day to have a longer healthier life. You can do it too. Just start somewhere. I did! Also remember, you may not have a lot of weight to lose but that doesn't mean your body is in shape.

Fitness Today

ok, today I walked to the gym with my kids about a mile there and home. Started my workout on the stairmaster, fun fun, then ran 3 miles. I did NOT want to do the stairmaster today. It's painful, however, I do want to increase my ability to hike long periods of time so no choice.. I had to start my workout with the right attitude and keep the goal in mind. I start that at home in quit time before I go to the gym. Renewing my mind.

Fitness

Ok, my trip to the Grand Canyon was just the start. I realized that I didn't just need to train for the hike but daily exercise would prepare me for the preperation. I found out that you can look good on the outside and be totally out of shape on the inside. Don't be fooled like I was. If your not exercising, your not in shape. I needed cardio workouts AND strength training. I HATED the strength training. I did not want to put my body thru any real pain. However, this effected everything I did including riding that bike again. So I began the workouts. I did NOT like it at first but when I got past all the soreness and I mean soreness, I begin to look forward to working out. Today I love it and I've convinced my husband to join me. He now enjoys it as well. Also, don't stop, becuase then the pain starts all over again. Yeah!!

Health

Health and fitness has not always been a part of my life. When I was in school I was very active however, when I got out of school it wasn't that important anymore. I never even really thought about it until I was asked to hike the Grand Canyon and without ever seeing it, I agreed. Didn't really think much about preparing because I didn't really understand what I had gotten myself into. I went to hike, to prepare, with a friend after work in the heat of the summer and went a quarter of the way up the mountain and had to turn around due to the fact that it was over 100 degrees outside and I thought I was going to pass out. I had no water or anything. Crazy, I know! Needless to say I fell apart on the hike and I didn't even go all the way to the river. I was so embarressed and swore to learn how to take care of my body. That was in 1990. Since then I have had another trip to the Canyon and almost passed out but conquered the last two times. I found out my health is something to take serious. Now I do. I take vitamins and eat healthy, which was something else I never did. I never thought about what I was putting into my body. Can't believe the difference. I feel better physically and mentally. It's a great feeling to know your in control of your body. This did not happen over night, but I have vowed to work on it continually. Do I fall, yes, but I get back up.
